"RAISING THE FLAG ON IWO JIMA - 23rd FEBRUARY 1945"
A 10"x8" signed black and white photograph of the "Raising of the U.S. Flag on Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima". This was an iconic photograph taken by Joe Rosenthal during World War II for which he was awarded the Pullitzer Prize.
The photograph has been signed very clearly in blue marker by Hershel. Hershel was awarded the "Medal of Honor" for his actions in the Battle of Iwo Jima. (Hershel is not one of the men raising the U.S. Flag.)
The photograph has been double-mounted in cream and black to an overall size of 16"x12".
